Hearstdales foi um Duo japonês de Hip Hop composto por duas irmãs, Yumi Sugiyama (杉山ユミ) e Emi Sugiyama (杉山エミ), conhecidas pelo seus nomes artistícos Rum e Jewels, respectivamente.
Emi nasceu em 4 de Dezembro de 1976 em Tokyo,Japão. Sua familia se mudou para Nova York no mesmo tempo em que Yumi nasceu, 17 de Dezembro de 1981, elas viveram lá por 13 anos.
Alguns anos mais tarde, foram apresentadas pelo cantor VERBAL (m-flo) em um programa musical chamado ASAYAN, com essa apresentação que elas fizeram neste programa, elas assinaram contrato com o mesmo.

Jeff Dale was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and was taught how to play the blues by two itinerant blues musicians from the west side when he was 13 years old. Jeff soon turned to blues songwriting and performing and eventually his travels took him to southern California where he hooked up with the Blue Wave Band, playing with them and releasing two albums of Jeff's original songs until 1988 when Jeff disappeared.
