Sou Kanai is a producer from Japan. He was born in 1989 and became interested in making music at the age of 16 after he had been influenced by outstanding DJs such as Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Above & Beyond, Paul van Dyk, Rank 1, Ferry Corsten, and more ones at the age of 14. He released his tracks from European label at the age of 21 after he had learnt music theory for a few years by himself and released some of his tracks from Japanese label. Kanai, Hideto, bassist; b. Tokyo, 1931. Along with guitarist Masayuki Takayanagi, was a leader of the sixties avant-garde in Japan. Like so many of his generation, his professional career began in American servicemen's clubs, but after meeting Duke Ellington he began a more formal study of music. Kanai and Takayanagi founded the Jazz Academy (later New Century Music Workshop) in 1960, performing experimental jam sessions in coffeeshops that incorporated their interest in contemporary classical music and the jazz of Sun Ra, Charles Mingus, and Ornette Coleman.
