Sinister Realm to kapela z pogranicza klasycznego heavy i doom metalu. Ich muzykę można określić jako wypadkową Judas Priest (brzmienie), Mercyful Fate (atmosfera, image) i Black Sabbath (riffy, tempa). W składzie zespołu znaleźli się zarówno debiutanci (wokalista Alex Kristof, gitarzyści Keith Patrick i John Kantner) jaki i dobrze znani fanom dooma perkusista Darin McCloskey (Pale Divine, Falcon) i multiinstrumentalista John Gaffney (Pale Divine, Chamber of Sorrows). Po demie "Sinister Realm" zespół szybko znalazł wytwórnię (Shadow Kingdom), debiutancki album ukazał się latem 2009 roku. W 2011 roku grupa wydała drugi krążek zatytuowany "The Crystal Eye" - 8 numerów epickiego, heavy doom...
Znane są dwie grupy pod tą nazwą:
1. Realm z Milwaukee (USA) wykonujący techniczny thrash metal z którego przebijają się wpływy power metalowe i progresywne. Grupa powstała w 1985 roku i rozpadła się w 1992 roku. Część muzyków założyła w 1995 heavy metalowy zespół White Fear Chain, który jednak w niedługim czasie został rozwiązany.

Yonder Realm was founded in the summer of 2009 by Jesse McGunnigle and Edward Delinden on the Long Isle, New York as a side project from their melodic death metal band inRed.
