Compañía Ilimitada was one of the most succesful pop-rock bands in Colombia (South America) in the 80's and early 90's. The main line-up comprised the duet of Camilo "Pyyo" Jaramillo (vocals) and Juan Manuel Pulido "Juancho" (Keyboards and Guitar). Other members in the first line-up included Carlos Posada (later founder of Sociedad Anónima, another less succesful band in the 80's) and Alberto Andrés Carbó. Apodimi Compania was formed in the mid 1980s by a group of music enthusiasts then studying at Melbourne University in the Classics and Hellenistic studies department, under the tutorage of noted rebetika scholar Stathis Gauntlet. The original members were all second and third generation Greek/Australians including George and Manuel Galiatsos. Hector Cosmas joined the band in 1989. Apodimi became well-known for its love and commitment to the performance of authentic rebetika and demotika (folk or regional tunes) on traditional acoustic instruments. .
