Violet Archer | ms
X Japan drummer and pianist (Yoshiki)'s current solo project. While no official release were marketed prior to 2005, the original idea for Violet UK had already been thought off in early 1997 before X Japan disbanded.
Yoshiki planned on releasing the first album in 2002. Unfortunate incidents (hide's death) and his general obsession with perfection pushed back that release date. As of September 2006, a major release by Violet UK has yet to see the light.

Ornatos Violeta were an influential Portuguese alternative rock group whose music was informed as much by jazz and ska as the dominant guitar rock format of the time. The band was formed in the city of Porto, in 1991.
With Manel Cruz (vocals), Nuno Prata (bass), Peixe (guitar), Kinörm (drums) and Elísio Donas (keyboard) and only two albums, they quickly became a reference in Portuguese music at the end of the 90's, despite the most successful part of their career lasting for only three years, ending when its members split up.

Originally founded as a skiffle group in Liverpool in 1959 by John McNally and Mike Pender (Mike Prendergast), the band took their name from the classic 1956 John Wayne western The Searchers. Prendergast claims that the name was his idea, but McNally ascribes it to 'Big Ron' Woodbridge, their first lead singer. The issue remains unresolved.
