Dudu Fisher is known throughout the world for his stirring performance as Jean Valjean in the hit show "Les Miserables," but his career began in his native country Israel many years before. After three years of service in the Israel defense forces, Fisher studied at the Tel Aviv academy of music and studied privately with some of the great cantors of the previous generation. He was only 22 when he was invited to become the Cantor of the Great Synagogue of Tel Aviv. Antonio Nóbrega was born in 1952, in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. His father was a doctor and he studied in a Catholic school, Colégio Marista. When he was 12, he started studying music in Escola de Belas Artes do Recife, where he learned how to sing and play violin. In 1960s, he became musician for Orquestra de Câmara da Paraíba and Orquestra Sinfônica do Recife. As member of those orchestras, Nóbrega started his musical career. Dudu Nobre começou na música aos 5 anos, quando ganhou um cavaquinho velho de um porteiro do prédio onde morava, em Vila Isabel. Afilhado do baterista Wilson das Neves, Dudu começou a aprender a tocar instrumentos de percussão durante batucadas com a garotada de Padre Miguel e sob o olhar do mestre Jorjão.
