アークティック・モンキーズ (Arctic monkeys) はイングランド・シェフィールド　ハイ・グリーン出身の4人組ロックバンド。2002年に結成。 2004年以降活況のUKシーンの中で、同時期にデビューした新人勢の中でも最大の成功を収めている。捻くれた高速ギター・サウンドを緩急自在に鳴らし、オアシス以来の超大物とよばれている。 現メンバー * アレックス・ターナー（Alex Turner,1986年1月6日 ）- ギター・ボーカル * ジェイミー・クック（Jamie 'Cookie' Cook,1985年7月8日）- ギター * マット・ヘルダース（Matt Helders,1986年5月7日）- ドラム * ニック・オマリー（Nick O'Malley,1985年6月5日）- ベース [元メンバー * グリン・ジョーンズ（Glyn Jones）- ボーカル * アンディ・ニコルソン（Andy Nicholson,1986年4月9日）- ベース アレックス・ターナーとジェイミー・クックがクリスマスにギターを入手。 2002年の夏、アンディ・ニコルソン（ベース）とマット・ヘルダース（ドラム）が加入。Bang Bangというバンド名で、アレックスのガレージにてバンド練習を開始。主にレッド・ツェッペリンなどのカバー曲を演奏し練習。後にバンド名をArctic Monkeysに変更。このバンド名は、ジェイミー・クック（ギター）が命名した。 2005年1月、デモ音源が"The Sheriff"と名乗る1人のファンによってインターネットに公開されるや、たちまち話題沸騰となり、バンドは7月にインディーレーベルのドミノと契約（他にフランツ・フェルディナンドなどが所属）。 10月に1stシングル「アイ・ベット・ユー・ルック・グッド・オン・ザ・ダンスフロアー」をリリース。全英初登場1位とを獲得するとともに、1週間で4万枚を売り上げるという鮮烈なデビューを飾った。英国メディアはこぞって彼らを「オアシス以来の衝撃」と報じた。 2006年1 月23日、1stアルバム「ホワットエヴァー・ピープル・セイ・アイ・アム、ザッツ・ホワット・アイム・ノット」をリリース。本作は全英初登場1位に輝き、当時の英国のアルバム最速売り上げ記録を更新した。同アルバムは2月にアメリカでもリリースされ、発売1週目に3万4000枚を売り上げて（インディーズのデビュー・アルバムとしては史上2番目）、ビルボード初登場24位となる。 さらに英国最大の音楽賞であるブリット・アウォーズなど、国内の主要音楽賞を総なめにして一躍トップ・ランナーの地位を築くことになった。 2007年4月23日に、2ndアルバム「フェイヴァリット・ワースト・ナイトメアー」を発売。全英1位、全米7位など、前作に引き続いて各国で大成功を収めると共に、英国最大のロックフェスであるグラストンベリー・フェスティバルにヘッドライナーとして出演し、早くもその人気は頂点に達している。さらに同年8月に開催されたサマーソニック07の大トリに大抜擢され、サマーソニックにおいて史上最年少（21歳）・デビューから最速でのヘッドライナーとしての出演を果たした。 .

The Plague Monkeys are a four piece band from Dublin, Ireland. They are Carol Keogh (vocals), Donal O' Mahony (guitars, keyboards and mandolin), Barry Roden (bass) and Thomas Haugh (drums, percussion and keyboard). They formed in December 1995, and released an independent demo EP "People And Machinery" just before the New Year. The musical world inhabited by The Plague Monkeys is the same evocative place that one might find, say a Mazzy Star or Mary Margaret O'Hara. Try to imagine The Velvet Underground jamming with the Cocteau Twins and you begin to get an impression of this group. .

Based out of Whittier, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, Plague Vendor are a punk band who harness their nervy, nocturnal energy into their driving sound. Made up of singer Brandon Blaine, guitarist Jay Rogers, bassist Michael Perez, and drummer Luke Perine, the band's sound blends the urgency of early post-punk with the reckless attitude of hardcore, creating a style that squirms with nervous energy while it refuses to sit still. In 2002, Empyrean Plague began to take form in the vast forests of the Canadian North. Influenced by the harsh northern winters, founding members and guitarists Turmoil and Pawn, began crafting their ruthless, yet melodious sound. Soon after, they sought out others of like mind, enlisting drummer Treachery and recruiting bassist Dertah (Vanquished) to begin work on their first demo.
