The Lupins formed in 1990 by Stoley (Stoley P.T.), Lance Tawzer (ex-Material Issue), Johnny "Beitr" Furman (The Cells) and Jay Rayjeck (TRS-80) on the campus of Elmhurst College near Chicago, IL and were later joined by guitarist Jaison "Blast" Chasko (Suffrajett). They recorded their first demos with Jeff Murphy (Shoes, Material Issue) at Short Order Recorder in Zion, IL. The Lupins played small clubs and local college gigs until meeting up with The Drovers. The Drovers took them under their wing and gave them gigs as an opening act on their regional tours. The Lupins recorded their debut album, 'Slob'...
The Remus Lupins is the SoCal-based Wizard Rock project of singer-songwriter Alex Carpenter, Tyler Nicholas and Toby Karlin, and part of a trend which was popularized by the Massachusetts-based band Harry and the Potters. The songs in this project are all in some way related to the Harry Potter series.
