Engelmacher was originally created as a side project by Michael in 2003 in order to create something that was more "accessible" and "connected" than his previous project which was created in 1996. Michael infused his musical abilities with his knowledge and feelings towards politics in order to express his ideologies without a totalitarian approach, a fashion in which leaders tend to ignore and disregard.
The name Engelmacher was a term used for women who let small and in particular, illegitimate care children die intentionally. A dark term and a view of dark social morays, but strangely enough the perfect name...
