Capital Cities(キャピタル・シティーズ)は、アメリカのエレクトロ・ポップ・ロック・デュオ。
2人のシンガーソングライター/マルティ・インストラメンタリスト、Ryan Merchant（ライアン・マーチャント）とSebu Simonian（セブ・シモニアン）で構成されている。
シリア生まれのアメリカ人、シモニアンは移住したカリフォルニアでピアノと歌のレッスンを受け、音楽学部の学位を取得。初のバンドは15歳の時という彼がマーチャントと出会ったのはインターネットのコミュニティー・サイト“Craig's list”。
根っからのカリフォルニアンなマーチャントは10歳でピアノ、12歳でギター、高校生のときにドラムを習得。マイケル・ジャクソンに夢中になり、ダニー・ハサウェイ、スティーヴィー・ワンダー、ジョニ・ミッチェルに影響を受ける。大学にてジャズピアノやボーカルのクラスをとる一方、ネット上で知り合ったシモニアンと一緒にジングルなど、コマーシャル・ミュージックを作ることとなり、2人でコラボ制作したＣＭ曲、デヴィッド・ボウイ本人がアプルーブしている「スペース・オディティ」のカヴァーが話題に。
プリンスが作曲したシンニード・オコナーの「ナッシング・コンペアーズ・トゥー・ユー」やTupacのサンプリングを使用したピンク・フロイドの「BREATHE」のカヴァーは、Hype Machineチャートで1位を獲得。センスの良さが光る2人は地元はもちろん全米に人気を広げていった。
2012年12月の1stシングル「SAFE AND SOUND」は多くのタイアップを得て話題に。 .

The Capital Beat is a Finnish 8-piece machine of pulsating riddims combining elements of authentic ska, reggae and soul that evokes memories of old Jamaican music with a new and fresh twist.
