The Busy Signals refers to two bands: 1.) A Chicago-based punk band comprised of five serious record collectors who can talk your ear off about Milk ‘n' Cookies b-sides, the Busy Signals were formed by bassist Jeremy Thompson, an Atlanta native and former member of the Carbonas, and his friend Frankie Jensen, a drummer who had moved to Chicago to join the band the Tyrades. Signals Midwest is a punk/indie band from Cleveland, Ohio. They initially formed as a 3-piece consisting of Max Stern (guitar, vocals), Steve Gibson (drums, vocals), and Loren Shumaker (bass, math) in September 2008 and added Jeff Russell (guitar, prank phone calls) of Echoes of Harpers Ferry in July 2010.
