Formatasi nel 2005, era composta da 5 musicisti che appartenevano a tre gruppi diversi. Kevin Matisyn, il cantante, decise il nome del gruppo.
Iniziarono a incidere il loro primo album nel novembre del 2005, "The Melody And The Energetic Nature Of Volume", a dicembre registrarono il video della hit "Cold (But I'm Still Here)", e il 21 febbraio del 2006 venne rilasciato tramite Hollywood Records.
