Bassnectar is the stage name of Lorin Ashton, a freeform electronic musician, DJ, and producer based in Santa Cruz, California. He is best known for his live performances, light shows, and community engagement. Bassnectar's original musical influences included metal and rock bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, and Nirvana. He integrates these influences into his own musical career, sometimes quite literally like his track "Pennywise Tribute" which was released on Vava Voom, his most recent full length album. The Nectarine No. 9 was an indie band from Edinburgh, Scotland. Formed by former Fire Engines frontman Davy Henderson in 1991, the band's music has been described as "dark, moody and brilliant" "noisy guitar rock" with "quirky rhythms". The Nectarine No. 9 released several albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, and recorded seven John Peel sessions. The band disbanded in 2004. .

Sensible Nectar was started by Baltimore area native Justin Marc Lloyd in the summer of 2009 as a guitar-based ambient & drone project. It had rapidly evolved into an extremely diverse outfit of power electronics, ambience and noise before Justin retired the moniker and started various other projects in it's place (such as Pregnant Spore and Dementia And Hope Trails).
