Selim Sesler was born in Keşan in Edirne, Turkey in 1957. He is from a musician family originally from Drama (Greece), who traditionally played zurna, and who emigrated to Turkey in 1923. Sesler began by playing zurna,but took up the clarinet in his early teens, as many younger members of davul-zurna families began to adopt ince saz instruments in the 1960s. He began playing in village weddings at the age of fourteen, and also performed at regional fairs. Selim Palmgren (1878–1951) was a Finnish composer, pianist, and conductor. Palmgren studied with Ferruccio Busoni, and in 1921 came to the United States, where he taught composition at the Eastman School of Music, later returning to Finland. Most of his works were for piano, and his smaller lyric pieces are his most noteworthy for the use of Scandinavian folk elements. His hometown Pori has a Palmgren conservatory named by him. Palmgren's larger oeuvre includes 5 piano concertos (No.2 "The River") and opera Daniel Hjort .
Selim Demirdelen was born in Stuttgart / Istanbul in 1969. He finished at Istanbul High School for Boys. After graduating from Istanbul University, he studied film at New York University for a short time. He then continued his master’s degree in the Department of Cinema and Television at Bilgi University. In 1994, Demirdelen won a prize for his first short films “Hasret” and “Çevre” in the IFSAK short film festival. In 1998, Demirdelen started working freelance director. In 2002, he released his first album “Beat Bazaar”. In 2004, he worked as part of five directors for the film “Anlat Istanbul”....
