The Merton Parkas began life as "The Sneakers" in south Merton, London around 1975, playing old Motown Records classics. Antero Mertaranta is best known from his energetic announcing in ice hockey games especially when Finland is playing. Besides of Ice Hockey Mertaranta also has been announcing Soccer, athletics and Finnish base ball. Mertaranta himself played Finnish Baseball in his youth. In 2001 Mertaranta began hosting a sportsquiz-show named "Se on siinä", named after one of Mertaranta's most famous catchphrases: "Se on siinä" (That's it!).
