Julian Fernando Casablancas (born August 23, 1978) is the vocalist and songwriter of the band The Strokes. Casablancas' musical influences are varied and wide ranging, including but not limited to The Velvet Underground, The Pogues, Bob Marley, Built to Spill, Guided by Voices, The Magnetic Fields, and The Doors. One of Julian Casablancas' (as well as other members of the band) main influence for starting a band was Nirvana. More recently he has stated that possibly two of his favorite songs of all time are Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and Bill Withers's "Lean on Me". .

Julia Claire was born in Surrey, England. At thirteen, she was given her first part as an actress in the BBC series "A Little Princess". Her first recording contract in 1987 lead her to base her life between England and Spain where the Maxi single "A Summer Romance" became top of the charts. This record launched Julia's singing career and she performed in concerts and on numerous television programmes, with her own band and dancers.
