Demdike Stare è il duo formato dai Mancuniani Miles Whittaker e Sean Canty: il primo attivo da anni come produttore solista e Dj di riferimento dell'etichetta discografica Modern Love, il secondo appassionato collezionista di musica a 360 gradi. Insieme creano un mondo sonoro che sfugge ad ogni definizione, un paradosso in cui coesistono le inclinazioni techno di Whittaker con l'esotismo sonico di Canty e che contribuisce a mettere a fuoco paesaggi audiovisivi di rara intensità.
La loro ricerca si concentra sulla tecnica del campionamento, espediente tecnico che permette di sviluppare una poetica densa di reminescenze dando nuova fisionomia a materiale...
Idiot Stare are an "Industrial" act from Los Angeles, USA.
Idiot Stare's origins go back to their former incarnation STG in 1989. Formed in 1994, Idiot Stare spent the 90's recording their first two albums, "Blinded" and "The Hate Cage." During this time members contributed songs to over 20 compilations and lent their producing talents to various recordings and remixes for other bands in the genre.
Idiot Stare re-emerged in the fall of 2001 combining the musical talents of the original Idiot Stare, with the dynamics of Insight 23. .
There are at least three artists called Stare:
1) Stare aka Crescent is a Drum and Bass producer from Tallinn, Estonia. At first he often produced with his partner Phibbs and had releases on DSCI4 and Blindside. In this time period his style could be described as Neurofunk. Later he turned to the groovy, soulful side of DnB and he released Liquid tunes for labels such as Renegade Recordings, Phunkfiction and shadybrain.net.
2) Stare was a gothic rock project active between 1998 and 2001. Gary Thrasher (Gossamer) was the mastermind of the project, while Michele Burch-Morehart provided vocals and keyboard....
The Czech indie band Budoár staré dámy (Old Lady's Boudoir) representing a home-made alternative rock band was founded during the summer holiday of 1999. All members come from Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic, located in the region of South Moravia.
