For the past 10 years the band called BURNT has doggedly been playing their soulful blend of reggae, ska, punk and hip-hop music at venues large and small across the west coast of North America. Building on the D.I.Y. culture of many influential punk and reggae bands before them, BURNT has managed their own tours, from Tijuana, Mexico to Victoria, B.C., and independently released 7 diverse albums of original material. In the summer of 1977, Dean Friedman marked his entry into US pop consciousness with the enormous success (his only American hit, it peaked at #26) of his infectious hit single Ariel, a quirkily irresistible and uncategorizable pop song about a free spirited, music loving, vegetarian Jewish girl in a peasant blouse who lived, as the lyric goes, "...way on the other side of the Hudson." A year later, Friedman struck a chord in the UK, this time with a magical duet (performed with singer Denise Marsa) entitled Lucky Stars. Lucky Stars zoomed to #3 in the UK singles charts...

Bernd Friedmann, conosciuto principalmente come Burnt Friedman (Coburgo, 1965), è un musicista tedesco attivo in numerosi progetti nel campo dell'elettronica, del dub e del jazz. Fra il 1984 e il 1990 ha studiato pittura, video e arti performative presso la scuola d'arte di Kassel, città in cui è cresciuto. Le sue prime registrazioni autoprodotte risalgono alla prima metà degli anni ottanta pubblicate con lo pseudonimo Toxh[1]. Burnt Cross is an anarcho punk recording project which came together in Brighton, UK and is made up of twin brothers Rob Marriott and Paul Marriott. Though formed in January 2007 the brothers are no strangers to playing punk rock and have performed in bands together as far back as kids fifteen years ago. 'CARCASS OF HUMANITY' was released through Pumpkin Records in 2007 as a 10 track CD and later as an LP version through Tadpole Records (recently re-released on to red vinyl).So far they have also released seven 7"s and are releasing a new 12" in Jan/Feb 2011....
