Forged in Austin in 2003 by Stuart Laurence on lead guitar (Agony Column) Brendon Bigelow on bass (Death of Millions) Beverly Barrington on guitar (T.A.N.G.) Erika Swinnich on vocals (Autumn Tears) and Pat Doyle on drums (Offenders), Ignitor began turning heads in several countries after releasing a 6-song EP “Take to the Sky” to rave reviews in 2004 and making its European debut at the Keep it True Festival in Germany in November 2005.

In 2006 Beverly was replaced by shredder Annah Moore, and the band released the album “Road of Bones” (Cruz del Sur) in September 2007 to more rave reviews.
Unfortunately, that was on the eve of Erika’s leaving the band for personal reasons so the band was unable to tour in support of it. Later that year, Annah left Austin and the band for a job opportunity in Phoenix.

It was then clear that the band need to reclaim the spark that ignited it, so the remaining members asked Beverly to rejoin and she obliged. The search for Erika’s replacement wouldn’t come as easy though, but persistence paid off big time.
The band scored a tour de force by recruiting its friend Jason McMaster (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys) as the new vocalist in October 2008.
After a few months getting the new line-up acquainted musically, the band began recording its 2nd full-length album, "The Spider Queen".
The 2009 line-up is both new and familiar-sounding, as Bev reprises her inimitable clock-tight picking style, and Jason adds his trademark edge to the front of the band.

“The Spider Queen” is an original rock opera written by guitarist Stuart Laurence himself in 9 scenes plus an intro and an epilogue, each scene represented by a song.

“The Spider Queen” narrates the adventure of a young man facing the quest of his life, avenging his parents’ death. The story evolves around a mysterious talisman, the “Rune of Power” and the magic it possesses, with many turns of events that will lead to an unexpected end.

Each and one of the numerous characters are impersonated by the versatile, dramatic and impressive vocals of Jason McMaster who delivers a performance to the highest of his standards.

But it’s the band’s whole work that needs to be appreciated. The two guitarists Stuart and Bev produce countless killer guitar riffs changing constantly shape to get along with Jason’s performance, while bass-player Brendon and drummer Pat build up a concrete wall of sound that will take your breath away.

“The Spider Queen” will be released in Europe by the 7th of September on Cruz Del Sur Music, and in US/Canada by the 22th of September via Heavy Artillery.
