Winner of the 1993 Sibiu Jazz Festival Award for Best Debut, Teodora is considered one of the most important Jazz musicians in Romania ( 2004- The Excellence prize for the most important contribution in Jazz). She managed to switch from the field of Mathematics (field in which she graduated with Honors in 1991) to a successful career in Jazz.
