Project Viremia is a Finnish one piece musical concept started in 2010 with the purpose to create infectious and dominating metallic tunes combining metal & rock with industrial, electronic and symphonic elements. .

The word Virelai comes from old French and means ”the beauty of music, dance and poetry”. The band was founded in 1999 by Søren Hammerlund and is based in Denmark. Virelai plays music from the middle ages. Mainly old Nordic ballads and songs, but the repertoire includes dancing melodies from the south of Europe (France, Italy and Spain) as well. Virelai has played more than 200 concerts, around Scandinavia and Europe. Since 2005 the 4 musicians started the project Valravn, where ancient Nordic music merges with electronics. .

Spontaani Vire plays original modern folk music and traditional Finnish music with incredible groove and enthusiastic joy. The music has influences from Balkan music, world music, jazz and progressive rock.Their energetic and spontaneous approach to music has fascinated audiences all over the world. The group´s oustanding style combined with virtuotic playing has brought many prizes and nominations: the band was chosen as ” the Traditional Group of the Year 1996” by the Finnish National Broadcasting company YLE and was announced as ” the Group of the Year 1995” by the international Kaustinen Folk Music Festival.
