Los Angeles Jazz Quartet | id
There are three bands with the name Jazz.
1. JAZZ is a band from Spokane, WA consisting of four losers trying to do something important with their lives.
Ben Smith - Drums
Alex Paul - Bass
Adam Price - Guitar, vocals
Ramsey Troxel - Guitar, Vocals
2. Garage punk from Edmonton, Alberta by Weird Canada overlord Aaron Levin. Backed by pals from Gobble Gobble, Dropping Out and the Wicked Awesomes!, Levin channels his hyperbolic written enthusiasm into quadro-spazzed blink-and-you’ll-miss-‘em ragers. Fall might be creeping into winter, but international jangle-punk superhits like “Your Stuff”, “Cowboy” and especially the stupidly catchy “Summer”...
The Modern Jazz Quartet was formed in 1952 by Milt Jackson (vibraphone), John Lewis (piano, musical director), Percy Heath (bass), and Kenny Clarke (drums). Connie Kay replaced Clarke in 1955. Various of the members had played together backing other artists such as Dizzy Gillespie and Ray Brown, and in Jackson's own Quartet.
Through their long existence, they have worked with Classical musicians and are known for incorporating elements of Classical music into jazz, being one of the most notable examples of the style called Third Stream.
The group disbanded in 1974 and reformed in 1981 on a part-time basis, with...
Martin Iveson moved from the North-East of England to the Midlands city of Derby in 1991 to take a position as in-house musician for the then fledgling video games company that went on to produce the Tomb Raider series of games. Not content with sound tracking one of the world’s biggest computer games, Martin’s passion for music saw him set up his own studio and record label, from which he could give a free rein to his personal music aspirations.
Martin became Atjazz and Mantis Recordings’ first release was his Story EP. The positive reactions to Story inspired his debut...
Pianist 野崎良太 (Nozaki Ryōta), recording under the name Jazztronik, has been on the Japanese dance music scene since 1998. He has released various full-length albums; his most recent album is "Jazztronik Studio Live Best", released 31 Dec, 2012.
He has a good international projection. The title track from the album Samurai was one of the top dance tunes of 2004. Jazztronik's production skills are as stellar as his piano work and have led him to collaborate with Mondo Grosso, Taro Hakase, bebe, Yukihiro Fukutomi, London Elektricity and many more.

Modern Jazz was an electro-based live performance group assembled and co-ordinated by Ash Wednesday. Not a conventional group by any means, Modern Jazz was carefully designed to constantly evolve and change form, to include various configurations of numerous and diverse select musicians and artists. It was to exist, therefore, as a vehicle for creative input from a varied extent of sources. This input was often directed towards the idea of mating computer generated sound and vision to human spontanaiety (perhaps stange bedfellows to the uninitiated). When viewed from this angle, the name 'Modern Jazz', however ironic, was specifically descriptive. .
