Howie Day est un chanteur-compositeur américain, né à Bangor, dans l'État du Maine, le 15 janvier 1981. Il a commencé le piano enfant, puis est passé à la guitare. Son premier album, Australia, est publié en 2000 par un producteur indépendant. Il part en tournée, faisant de plus en plus souvent les premières parties de plusieurs artistes et groupes tels Remy Zero ou David Gray. Cette publicité lui permet finalement de signer un contrat d'enregistrement chez Sony, qui réédite Australia en 2002. Nato a Bologna dall’incontro di due studenti universitari calabresi, Salvatore De Siena e Peppe Voltarelli, Il Parto delle Nuvole Pesanti si affaccia alla scena musicale con un demo, GUERRA AL SALARIO (autoprodotto, 1991), in cui prevale l'iniziale vena punk. All’inizio degli anni ’90, Il Parto, con l’ arrivo di Amerigo Sirianni, realizza “ALISIFARE” (autoprodotto, 1994) il primo cd contenente brani come “Raggia”, una tarantellapunk pacifista e “Sahara Consilina”, una ironica e surreale polka, dedicata ai temi del viaggio e dell’emigrazione, che rappresentano una sorta di manifesto artistico del gruppo.

Dorough was born in Orlando, Florida, where he met future friend and bandmate A.J. McLean. His mother, Paula Flores, is Puerto Rican, and his late father, Hoke Dorough, was Irish American. He is the youngest of five siblings. He came to fame in the mid 1990s as a member of the Backstreet Boys. .
