Epica, groupe de metal symphonique néerlandais fondé en 2002, est issu du départ de Mark Jansen de son groupe After Forever. Il y tenait la place de guitariste aux côtés de Floor Jansen, et le quitta suite à des divergences quant à l'orientation future du groupe. Initialement nommé Sahara Dust, le projet du guitariste aura d'abord pour Frontwoman Helena Michaelsen, du groupe Trail of Tears. Epic45 is a post-rock band based in Birmingham, England.
