Naissance
Le groupe fut fondé en 1973 par Douglas Colvin et John Cummings (qui étaient voisins), à qui viendra se joindre Jeffrey Hyman, le "pote de picole" de Douglas. Les trois compères prennent le pseudonyme de Ramone (Dee Dee pour Douglas, Johnny pour John et Joey pour Jeffrey) et deviennent ainsi les Ramones, en hommage à Paul McCartney, dont le premier nom de scène fut Paul Ramone.
