Pearl Jam est l'un des groupes de musique, qui fut parmi les plus populaires au début des années 1990. Succès grunge, il est évident que ce groupe profita de la personnalité troublée sinon sombre de son chanteur-parolier (Eddie Vedder) originaire de Chicago, puis ayant vécu à San Diego (USA) où il fut contacté par Jack Irons, ancien RHCP qui lui fit parvenir la démo de TEN dont il écrivit les paroles que Jack fit parvenir aux autres membres du groupe, cruellement en manque de chanteur après la mort du chanteur de leur précédent groupe : Mother Love Bone (Andy Wood)...
Earl Klugh est un guitariste de jazz américain né le 16 septembre 1954 à Détroit dans le Michigan. Il se dit influencé plus que tout par le guitariste country Chet Atkins, lequel l'a invité à jouer sur plusieurs de ses albums (Earl lui a rendu la pareille sur son album Magic In Your Eyes). Même s'il refuse de se considérer comme un musicien de jazz, il fut pourtant l'un des pionniers de cette forme de jazz contemporain mêlant jazz, R&B et pop que l'on appelle communément aujourd'hui smooth jazz.
