Spitting Off Tall Buildings was a German rock band fronted by Jana Pallaske, known for an honest and straight approach to underground music and D.I.Y. attitude.. She sings under the name of "A girl called Johnny" Some of their influences were Hüsker Dü, Pixies, Black Flag, Fugazi, Mclusky, (who happen to be responsible for the occasional two bass players), and Sonic Youth. Life Without Buildings était un groupe de post-punk de Glasgow du début des années 2000. Malgré une carrière de courte durée et un succès confidentiel le groupe se fit remarquer par un brillant premier (et unique) album sorti en 2001, Any Other City. Il reste encore remarqué grâce au chant de Sue Tompkins qui vaut au groupe des comparaisons avec le groupe anglais The Fall. .
