Die Arctic Monkeys sind eine vierköpfige britische Indie Rock-Band mit Einflüssen aus Post-Punk und Garage Rock. Sie wurde 2002 im englischen Sheffield gegründet und veröffentlichte 2006 ihr Debütalbum, das Platz eins der britischen Charts erreichte. 2007, 2009, 2011 und 2013 erschienen jeweils weitere Alben der Musikgruppe, die alle ebenfalls die Spitzenposition in Großbritannien erreichten.

2002: Gründung

The Plague Monkeys are a four piece band from Dublin, Ireland. They are Carol Keogh (vocals), Donal O' Mahony (guitars, keyboards and mandolin), Barry Roden (bass) and Thomas Haugh (drums, percussion and keyboard). They formed in December 1995, and released an independent demo EP "People And Machinery" just before the New Year.
The musical world inhabited by The Plague Monkeys is the same evocative place that one might find, say a Mazzy Star or Mary Margaret O'Hara. Try to imagine The Velvet Underground jamming with the Cocteau Twins and you begin to get an impression of this group. .
Lionhead Studios is a United Kingdom-based computer game development company led by industry veteran Peter Molyneux, and acquired by Microsoft Game Studios in April 2006.
Lionhead started as a breakaway from the developer Bullfrog, which was also founded by Molyneux. Lionhead's first game was Black & White, a god game with elements of artificial life, strategy, and beat 'em up games. Black & White was published by Electronic Arts in 2001. Lionhead Studios is named after Mark Webley's (now deceased) hamster, which passed away not long after the naming of the studio. [1]
