Animals as Leaders ist ein instrumentales Progressive Metal-Projekt des Gitarristen Tosin Abasi, der in Washington D.C. lebt. Das selbstbetitelte Debütalbum erschien im April 2009 via Prosthetic Records. Das Projekt entstand auf einen Vorschlag des Labels Prosthetic, dem Abasis Gitarrenspiel auffiel, der damals noch in der Metalcore-Band Reflux aktiv war. Daher wurde er gefragt, ob er gewillt sei, ein Soloalbum für das Label aufzunehmen. Abasi lehnte zunächst ab mit der Begründung, es sei egoistisch und unnötig, auch an einer Solokarriere zu arbeiten. The Soft Boys were a post-punk/neo-psychedelic band which formed in 1976 in Cambridge, England. The band's best known lineup consisted of Robyn Hitchcock (vocals, guitar), Kimberley Rew (guitar), Matthew Seligman (bass) and Morris Windsor (drums). Seligman replaced original bassist Andy Metcalfe in 1979, and two guitarists (Rob Lamb and Alan Davies) briefly preceded Rew. The band issued two albums, A Can of Bees (1979) and Underwater Moonlight (1980), before splitting in 1980. Oxfordshire quartet Glass Animals are Dave Bayley, Drew MacFarlane, Edmund Irwin-Singer and Joe Seaward. They grew up together from the age of thirteen and started working together when Dave showed Drew some tracks.
