Brandy Norwood wird 1979 in McComb, Mississippi als ältestes Kind eines Pastors und einer Hausfrau geboren. Sie ist die ältere Schwester des Sänger und Schauspielers Ray-J (* 1981) und Cousine der Musiker Snoop Dogg und Bo Diddley. Bereits im Alter von zwei Jahren tritt sie als Teil des örtlichen Kirchenchors bei Wohltätigkeitskonzerten und Gesangswettbewerben vor größerem Publikum auf. Randy Edelman (* 10. Juni 1947 in Paterson, New Jersey) ist ein US-amerikanischer Filmkomponist.
Edelman besuchte das Cincinnati Music Conservatory, und spielte anschließend als Pianist in New York am Broadway. Er produzierte mehrere Soloschallplatten mit Songs, von denen einige später mit Barry Manilow, Olivia Newton-John und anderen aufgelegt wurden. In den 70er Jahren hatte er auch eigene Hitparadenerfolge: Concrete and Clay und Uptown Uptempo Woman (beide 1976). Anschließend ging er nach Los Angeles, und nach einigen Filmmusiken in den 70er Jahren begann er ab den 80er Jahren, für bekannte US-Spielfilme und Fernsehserien die Musik zu schreiben wie z.B. Dragonheart. .
