Bandhistory The Prayer wurde im November 1990 in Köln von dem Engländer Ian Miller und dem Deutsch-Kanadier Martin Haug gegründet. Der von der Band anfangs gewählte Stil Synthie Pop wurde später durch Progressive Rock ergänzt. Es kamen Michael O'Neil (starb 1994), MG Kramer und Tony Ground dazu. The band, consisting of David Anthem (vocals), Paul Waggoner (guitar), Tommy Rogers (guitar), Will Goodyear (drums) and Marc Duncan (bass) formed in 1996, going through numerous member changes up until 1997.
