Das musikalische Projekt Unextraordinary Gentlemen (kurz: UXG) begann 2004 in Los Angeles als Idee von Richard Pilawski (ex-Sex with Lurch, The Myriad Form) um die Liebe zu Post-Punk, Synth-Pop, Industrial und elektronischer Musik kombiniert mit dem literarischen Genre der Viktorianischen Fantasy, auszudrücken. Mit dem Einstieg von Eric Schreeck (ex-Superchrome) startete das Projekt im Jahr 2006. Der Bandname ist eine ironische Anspielung auf Alan Moores „Liga der außergewöhnlichen Gentlemen“ (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). Die Idee besteht darin, das Genre der Viktorianischen Fantasy musikalisch umzusetzen. Der „Punk“ wird durch die Bassgitarre repräsentiert, die „drum machine“ symbolisiert die Dampfantriebskraft und vorprogrammierte Keyboard-Melodien...
