Massive Attack ist eine britische Trip-Hop-Band aus Bristol. Sie ist neben Tricky, Smith & Mighty und Produzent Nellee Hooper Ende der 1980er Jahre in ihrer Heimatstadt aus dem Künstlerkollektiv „The Wild Bunch“ hervorgegangen und gilt als eine der stilbildenden Bands in ihrem Genre.
Bandgeschichte
Gegründet wurde Massive Attack 1987 von Robert "3D" Del Naja, Grant "Daddy G" Marshall und Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles. 1990 veröffentlichten sie die erste Single Daydreaming. Nach einigen weiteren Singles erschien 1991 das Debutalbum Blue Lines, auf dem auch Tricky, ein alter Freund aus The-Wild-Bunch-Zeiten, mitmachte. Soundscape ist eine Schweizer Rockband aus einem kleinen Dorf im Entlebuch. Nach langer Stilsuche legte die Band eine einjährige Spielpause ein, welche ihre heutige Musik und die Einstellung dazu stark beeinflusst hat. Soundscape wurde durch einen zusätzlichen Gitarristen und neuen Bassisten bereichert und konzentriert sich auf eigenständiges Werken im Sinne von unkomplizierter, kompakter und tiefgründiger Musik, die versucht ihren Gefühlen und Stimmungen gerecht zu werden.

Rising from the ashes and Digging For Victory Soundsci is the brainchild of JonnyCuba (Dynamic Syncopation) and Audessey (MassInfluence) after collaborating previously while in MassInfluence on numerous occasions for Ninja Tune (Ground Zero, Dedicated, Systematic and 2 Tha Left) they kept in touch and continued making music together. J.Davis is a man of many hats. Co-owner of Devout Artists Recording Group, producer, remixer, musician and founder of Drummers Against Drug Abuse.
Joey was raised in a musical home; weaned on styles ranging from neo- jazz pioneers like Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder to prog-rock groups such as Yes and ELP. Being a drummer is what really opened his mind up to intricacies of latin and jazz-funk rhythms. All this education including his love of electronic music somehow finds it's way into Joey's music.
