It is a labor of love by Cecil Otter & Swiss Andy. A year’s worth of cutting up every imaginable Fugazi record and trying out every Wu-Tang acapella they could get their hands on, resulted in Wugazi: 13 Chambers (a must listen for anyone who even looked at a skateboard in the 90’s). Bingo Gazingo was an elderly poet and former postal worker from New York City. Two versions, each also titled Bingo Gazingo, have been released of the only single-artist album ever released by WFMU -- the first on cassette, the second on CD. (Among other changes, the CD replaced Ravel's with an improvised bolero as accompaniment to "Bingo's Bolero.")
The album consists of Bingo's reading his poems to an improvised musical accompaniment by R. Stevie Moore and Bob Brainen. Often, the background music to his frantic incantations was nothing more than a cassette tape inserted into a cheap cigar-box tape recorder...
Im Sommer 1998 gründete Peter Montage seine "1 - Mann - Band" Graphik Magazin.
Aus persönlichem Frust und gelangweilt von der deutschen wie internationalen Musikszene, versucht er seit dem seine Vorstellungen von Melodie, Klang und Atmosphäre mittels Synthesizer und Keyboard umzusetzen.
Anfangs noch sehr minimalistisch und monoton gehalten, entwickelte sich die Musik von Graphik Magazin hin zu melodischer Elektronik.
Die Einflüsse reichen dabei von Wave, Punk, Electronic Body Music und Industrial bis hin zu Mersey Beat und Rock'n Roll.
In seinen Texten verarbeitet Peter Montage Themen wie Hoffnung, Träume, Alltag, das Leben in der Konsumgesellschaft, Liebe, Fernsehen und Kunst. .
Es gibt mindestens zwei Bands mit diesem Namen:
1) Magazine waren eine britische post-punk Band.
Das erste Magazine-Konzert fand im Oktober 1977 in Manchester statt. Etwa zur gleichen Zeit unterschrieb die Band einen Vertrag bei Virgin Records. Dickinson hatte zu diesem Zeitpunkt die Band bereits wieder verlassen, so dass die erste Single Shot by both sides nur in einer Viererbesetzung aufgenommen wurde. Der neue, dauerhafte Keyboarder Dave Formula stieß erst 1978 dazu, rechtzeitig für das erste Album Real Life. Nach einer Tour im selben Jahr verließ Martin Jackson die Band.
