Dmitri Dmitrijewitsch Schostakowitsch (russisch Дмитрий Дмитриевич Шостакович, wiss. Transliteration Dmitrij Dmitrievič Šostakovič; * 12. September/25. September 1906 in Sankt Petersburg; † 9. August 1975 in Moskau) war ein sowjetrussischer Komponist. Neben 15 Sinfonien, Instrumentalkonzerten, Bühnenwerken und Filmmusik komponierte er 15 Streichquartette, die zu den Hauptwerken des zeitgenössischen Kammermusikrepertoires zählen.
