Abdullah Ibrahim (* 9. Oktober 1934 in Kapstadt als Adolph Johannes Brand) ist ein Pianist und Komponist aus Südafrika.
Bevor er den aktuellen Namen mit seiner Konversion zum Islam annahm, nannte er sich Dollar Brand. Seine Komposition "Manenberg" galt unter dem Apartheidregime als inoffizielle Nationalhymne der farbigen Bevölkerung Südafrikas.
1960 und 1961 spielter er mit den Jazz Epistles, zu denen Hugh Masekela (tp), Kippie Moeketsi (ts), Jonas Gwangwa (tb), Johnny Gertze (b) und Makaya Ntshoko (dr) gehörten. 1962 ging er nach Europa und trat mit dem Bassisten Johnny Gertze und dem Schlagzeuger Makaya Nthsoko zwei Jahre lang im Cafe Africana...

Bogdan Raczynski: Abdullah K. was my dice master title back in the AD&D days, I was feared and respected. Many think that rolling a 100-sided die is pure luck, but there is skill, and I was a master. That track is an homage to all those who roll. .
