Rick Ross (* 13. Februar 1977 in Carol City, Florida; eigentlich William Roberts) ist ein US-amerikanischer Rapper. Er steht zusammen mit anderen Rappern aus Florida, wie z.B. Trina, Trick Daddy und Plies, bei dem Raplabel Slip-N-Slide unter Vertrag. Der Name Rick Ross ist abgeleitet von Rick „Freeway“ Ross, einer der größten Crackdealer der 80er und 90er Jahre in Los Angeles. Nach dem erfolgreichen High-School-Abschluss im Frühjahr 1994 ermöglichte ihm ein Footballstipendium ein Studium an der Albany-State-Universität in Georgia, wo er Criminal Justice (dt. in etwa Strafrechtssystem) studierte.
