44 Leningrad wurde 1990 in Potsdam gegründet. Sie zählen zu den ersten Vertreter des Post-Sowjet-Punks. Die Folk-Punk-Band, die oft auch "Four-Four-Leningrad" genannt wird spielen eine deutsch/russische Mischung aus Folklore, Punk, Polka und Ska die sie "Russian Speed Folk" nennen. 44 Leningrad machen viele politische Texte und singen auch alte Volks- und Arbeiterlieder. Als Instrumente werden neben Bass, Gitarre und Schlagzeug auch Trompete, Akkordeon und die Balalaika eingesetzt. .

Leningrad Sandwich started around 1980 as a punk band of British ex-pats in Germany releasing the 'Go East' LP on Up Records. The Leningrad Cowboys are a Finnish rock and roll band, famous for its humorous songs and concerts featuring the Soviet Red Army Choir. Originally created as a label under which another Finnish band, the Sleepy Sleepers, could release their English songs and concert extravaganzas, the joke acquired a life on its own.
