Creedence Clearwater Revival (auch bekannt als CCR) war eine US-amerikanische Rockband der späten 1960er und frühen 1970er Jahre aus Berkeley, Kalifornien.
Gründung – die frühen Jahre
Die Band begann als The Blue Velvets, gegründet Anfang 1959 von John Fogerty und dessen Schulfreund Doug Clifford, sowie Stu Cook, im kalifornischen El Cerrito.

Lewis Allen Reed (* 2. März 1942 in Freeport, Long Island, New York, † 27. Oktober 2013 in New York City) war ein amerikanischer Musiker und Songautor. Er war zusammen mit John Cale eines der Gründungsmitglieder der von Andy Warhol inspirierten Band The Velvet Underground.
Karriere
Lou Reed spielte in verschiedenen Schulbands und nahm eine Platte als Mitglied von „The Shades“ auf. Reed besuchte die Syracuse University, wo er den Dichter Delmore Schwartz kennenlernte, der sein intellektueller Mentor wurde und ihn zum kreativen Schreiben anregte. (Bockris, 58–62)

Early years
Crossbreed was formed in 1996 as a four-man band consisting of James Rietz, Chris Nemzek, Charlie Parker & Travis Simpkins.
